    Anyone know what this is? I found out mine is reading wrong and I have no idea even where it is. Also does anyone know where a electronical schematic is for a 2000 mustang?

    Who says it's reading wrong? How did they make the measurement? The only air pump I can think of in a Mustang is the one built into the driver's seat to inflate the lumbar bladder on some models.

    The following is from the Ford emissions diagnostics manual:
    ==============================
    P1414 Secondary Air Injuction System Monitor Circuit High

    The secondary air monitor circuit is high, indicating the electrical AIR pump is on although the electrical AIR pump was commanded off by the PCM.

    Possible causes:
    Open AIR monitor circuit from the pump
    AIR circuit short to power
    Damaged solid state relay
    Open AIR pump ground
    Damaged AIR pump
    Damaged PCM
    ==============================

    However, I can find no reference to the pump or control relay in the schematics section. Perhaps this was a California-only "feature" in 2000.
    My Haynes manual shows an electric pump assembly for 1999 Mustangs. It looks like a small oil filter and seems to be bolted to the lower frame just forward of the right front tire (accessible from the bottom only). There should be a 2-pin connector and a hose that leads to a bypass valve.

    electrical schematic go to your ford dealer say you need to look at it for that year and they'll give you the book and you can sit down and look at it then most likely they'll let you photo copy it...they did for me.

    Found what I was looking for: Its called a smog pump, thats why I couldn't find it. Motorcraft is the only aftermarket company that makes it, I believe. The bad boy set me back $191.00, hopefully it will pass now.

    Mine went bad before to, but it was covered under warranty. Not all 3.8's have them, only the cars with "green state" or "california" emmisions packages. The next time I get my chip tuned I'm gonna remove the smog pump and second EGR valve and have it deleted on the chip. It frees up the engine bay a little bit.
