today is the day i decided my engine was way too dirty to be somewhat proud of. i started to clean things up a bit, any tips or anything on detailing an engine? any things that really make the engine look nice? if you have detailed out your engine (especially if its a V6), please post a picture of it, thanks!
Purple power is good too. Just make sure you water it down right away whenever you spray because it's really strong. Also use a firm brush on stuff like the intake manifold. Use vinyl/rubber cleaner on hoses and plastic. Don't wet the belt, battery, or fusebox.
Here is a quote from simple green about using it on aluminum. For engine cleaning I found 303 industrial cleaner works GREAT. Please read about itHERE It safe AND cleans in one application!!
I Use a two can spray system. The first can degreases and cleans (safe to spray all over the engine bay) the second can details it and makes it shine like crazy. When I call my wife Laer I'll ask her what it is. ( I am in Bugaria now doing Army stuff). But this stuff is great. about $6-7 a set.
