    Hey guys,

I have a 02 V6 Mustang, and when I turn my engine on after a cold or warm start I hear a sort of ticking in the engine. The sound goes away after a couple of minutes on the road or idle. Im thinking its the sticky lifter not getting oil right away, which I have tried some oil additives that help noisey lifters to no avail.

Any suggestions, should I just suck it up and go the shop ?

    Anything will help...

Check your spark plugs... make sure the boots are securely attached to the plug... I had a similar sound after I changed my plugs, way back in the day, and didn't get the boot tight enough.

    small exhaust leak?

These engines and possibly that year are notorious for exhaust manifold failures. Is it on the passanger side?
