Well i made it, after seven weeks of dieting and working my ass off i dropped 35 pounds and got under my max to join. Friday i went to the induction center, and did hours and hours of medical tests, interviews and job counseling. After what seemed like forever, and a million initals and signatures, fingerprinting and swearing in. i singed my final contract, and the meps commander singed it to make it offical. I was tired very hungry(had to starve and dehydrate to make weight, i was 201 monday morning and 192 friday morning:eek:). But i was, and still am very excited. I am a tier One enlistee, which means top ten precent, of all airforce enlistees, and i will be e-3 paygrade from day one becuase of my college credit. I also qualified for the exact job i wanted, Tactical Crew Chief, meaning that i would be in charge of a fighter plane, Or i may get heavy crew chief, which would be a transport or bomber. I have to wait a see what they find for me. Hopefully i can finish my degree and go officer in a couple of years. Then fly the plane insted of working on it.:flag:

congrats. I was going into the airforce until I found out that I could only get into the job field I wanted and not the job I wanted. So I joined the army and finished my 6 years last year. Gave me the exact job i wanted and I spent 3 years in HAwaii.... good luck to ya.

I'm glad you are excited man! I am stationed at DMAFB in AZ and I am an A-10 crew chief. I went in as Tactical Aircraft Maintenance as well. I really can't stand the job to much at all, I think that the Air Force has a lot better jobs to offer than this. Just remember when you are in BMT it is all a big head game!

Also it sucks going in as an E-3 because you'll have more pressure put upon you and expected to "babysit" other troops!

Thanks guys, i am sure i will be happy with a crew cheif job, that's what my recriter was so i have all the good and bad points, i am looking forward to the pressure of being a e-3 besides i hope to only have to do my job for two and a half years then go officer, after i finish school. Basic will be hard but i will be ready, i have about a month of work i have to do then it's to a hardcore workout schedule, becuase once i am in i will not have the time to workout hard enough to get in the shape i need to become a pilot, so after i am in all i have to do is maintain
