Has anyone ever successfully purchased a SVT Mustang with X-Plan pricing from Ford?

I gave one of my X plans to Blakers01GT last year and he used it to buy an 04 Comp Orange Cobra.

If you need one, PM me.

    What Dealer?

What dealer did you go through to get your SVT on the X-Plan? I'm trying to find a dealer to go that route with a '07 GT500 but so far every dealer I've talked to just laughs and basically hangs up on me. :bs:

I have a X-Plan pin number already....I just need to find a dealer willing to do the deal on a GT500. I know they aren't orderable yet, but some dealers are taking deposits and putting folks in line.

:rlaugh: I'd hang up on you too if I was a Ford dealer. J/K

Seriously though.....I highly doubt you'll find a dealer who will be willing to give you an X plan on a GT 500 when there will be 1,000 people in line to get one and be willing to pay thousands above invoice just to get their hands on one. :rlaugh: GOOD LUCK! :rlaugh:

    Constructive criticsm?

Well.....your comments aren't exactly 'constructive criticsm'! :rlaugh:

I was thinking the same thing that Ford dealers won't want to do a X-Plan on a GT500, but you never know until you ask. This just means I need to get midevil on their arses.

Trying to use X-plan (or any other Ford discount plan) on the upcoming Shelby Cobra GT500 is going to be a LONGSHOT. The GT500s will be in VERY strong DEMAND, with not enough SUPPLY. It's as simple as that, especially with the "Shelby" name being used on this vehicle - that aspect is going to attract many older folks with plenty of disposable income. The dealerships know they can sell these cars at "___" amount above MSRP in order to reap huge profits.

    Mac-man:

X-plan is one of several Ford discount plans (commonly referred to as the "friends & neighbors" plan).

X-plan is not as "good" of a deal as the employee discount plan (which is called A-plan or Z-plan for retired workers). Before all the "employee-pricing-for-everyone" deals started, X-plan was still better than paying MSRP.

    X-plan is the A-plan price, PLUS 4%.

As you may have recently heard, FoMoCo is allowing the general public to use their "employee discount" (A-plan) on select vehicles (however, this does NOT include the Mustang or certain other vehicles, such as the Ford GT, etc).

You can view the current "employee pricing for everyone" promotion below:

Imagine an that on a Ford GT .. i'd be all over that!

I am looking at some sort of deal on the 07 as well. Anyway my husband is deploying and he was told that they have a program for deployed armed forces if they want to buy vehicles. I think that is how we are going to get ours. Some guy got a harley for 10k less, so I'm crossing my fingers. Regardless, I still want one :p

    Cobra90GT,

What are your thoughts on what will happen to '05 S281 prices on dealer inventory when the GT500 becomes orderable? I'm thinking that between the GT500 and the '06 Saleens starting to pour in, '05 S281s will be more affordable.

Then again....as loco as some Ford dealers are, maybe they'll think the '05 S281s are worth MORE money since they are the first of the new model year Mustangs.

How do you come by the x-plans? do you literally just walk in and ask about an x-plan on a car?

X-Plan pricing is typically for 'partners' of Ford. In my case, I work for a company that supplies lots of engineering computerization to Ford so we have a company X-plan that Ford offers us on their products. The X-Plan does nothing more than give you a PIN number that you then take into any Ford dealer. If that Ford dealer is willing to sell you the car you want on a X-Plan, they just plug in that PIN number and the price is set at invoice less 1% with no dealer fees. The one catch though is that Ford dealers are not required to take X-Plans....it's simply their choice.

X-plan is also a discount for non-immetiate family, friends and neighbors of Ford employees and retirees. It's about 1,000-1,500 less of a discount than A plan depending on the vehicle you're buying, but every little bit helps. Most SVT dealers won't allow X plan discounts. It's up to them if they want to or not.
