I've been hearing a reasonably loud rattling coming from under my car. I first assumed it was the heat shield on the cat just making some noise and paid no real attention. But its been doing it consistently so I got under the car a few days ago and looked around, but found nothing other than the bracket that holds my tailpipe to the frame wasnt connected. I plan on making a trip to the hardware store to fix that problem, but anywho... While I was under the car I saw no real clamps holding anything on. My real question is... where are they supposed to be. My cousin told me to take coat hangers and tie the exhaust but thats kinda...odd. So can anyone tell me where the clamps are supposed to be loacted or does it vary or what? Also, what else could cause it to rattle like that?

The exhaust could be hitting the frame somewhere since you are missing the hanger.

There are two hangers. One behind the muffler and under the bumper frame rail. You can buy the universal ones or go to www.50resto.com and buy OEM ones.
