Everytime i drive the mustang I can smell exhaust and see it coming out of the steering column. I checked all the rubber grommets and replaced some. But it looks like its going through the steering column and coming out the side at the top under the steering wheel. Im taking it to get a exhaust leak check tomorrow but what else should I look into replacing?

I've had smoke come out of steering column, I can't imagine exhaust making it all the way up there. Have you tried unplugging the column harness to see if it stops?

If you can smell smoke in the engine bay then you have a bad gasket on either the block or where the manifold connects to the tube. The time that one of my wiring harnesses got fried by the manifold, the fumes came throught my A/C vents. It also got into the cowl and came out my vents down by the floor.
