How would this setup sound to you guys. Mac Shorty headers, all 2 1/2 tubing, cut-outs, followed by an O/R x-pipe, and borla xr-1 Racing bullet mufflers all to a side exit exhaust?

Well I guess that sounds good except I would think since anything after the cutouts isnt going to change the sound or performance I would just buy something cheap or just put cutouts right at the beginning of the stock y-pipe..either way I think cutouts are going to hurt your performace not help it.

XR-1`s are no different than a regular glasspack so save your money and go cheap with the glass packs. also the shortie headers really don`t offer any advantage in power over the stock headers. LT`s will add up to 15 hp and give a deeper tone.

This is when I differ with your opinion. My brother is currently using them on his '97 F-150 4.6L and it sounds distinctly different than the other 4.6L F-150s that I have heard with other glasspacks. These borla's also are a triple-chamber design that split the air into 3 separate flows that are separated the disance of the muffler and are left in these 3 flows until the muffler ends, which can easily change the audible characteristics of the exhaust. And my brother's sound is so distinct, that no one confuses his approach with any other vehicle.

2.5 is to big unless you are going for a stroker/a poweradder.
    I would suggest 2.25.

Definitely stick w/ 2ΒΌ" pipe and DO NOT waste your money on shorty headers. I had MAC shorties on my V6 and was thoroughly dissappointed with that $200+. Get a ported upper or something like that.

O/R X-pipe with straight flow mufflers, O/R H-pipe for chambered mufflers.
