Hey guys. I just bought a 2004 GTP with 92k on it. I bought the extended warranty for the powertrain and its a good thing because the cars having trans issues.

The trans fluid is far from that sweet red its supposed to be.

Do you guys think the extended warranty will cover damages that may have been done by the previous owners neglect?

It should, so long as there is no clause that prevents them paying out for lack of maintenance. Read the fine print in the policy (warranty) and make sure you understand it.

    Then, read it again. ;)

Is it just an off colour, or does it have a "rotten egg" stench too it as well? An off colour trans fluid can often be an indication that the trans is just in need of a change of fluid, filter and a flush. If it stinks, that could indicate overheating and worn parts. What kind of mileage is on your car?

    Reading comprehension FTW!!! :bang:

If it hasn't been serviced up until this point, it's in need of it. See what a fluid/filter change and a flush does for it. :nice:
