Once again, UPS has found a way to amaze me at how much they suck @ss. I ordered a replacement paper filter from oemfordparts.com, and it got shipped to me via UPS (there was no option). I live in an apartment building and dont get home from work til 6, so naturally I wasn't going to be here when the package arrived. Well, that was a mistake... the guy in brown decided to leave the package with some random person who has an indistinguishable signature, and did not leave a notice to tell me where it was dropped. This is the 4th time they've done this to me, out of 4 packages shipped to me by them this year.

I call UPS, they just repeat exactly what the online tracking says, and then tell me "contact the shipper and have them contact us so we can set up a trace." I'm like, how does this have anything to do with the shipper? This sucks, because I have stuff coming from Stangsuspension.com (they also only use UPS) and thats going to get lost as well. And that will hurt just a little bit more... Long story short, I wish every place offered Fedex because I have never once had an issue with them, and they even have hot chicks staffing the location near me back home.

Anyone else have similar experiences with either shipping company? Talk about annoying..

Fed Ex is usually cheaper too....
Check and see if you have one of those UPS stores in your area. They are popping up everywhere. Then you can have it shipped there and pick it up after work. Or you can even pick stuff up at the local UPS shipping hub...they have a late night atleast once during the week.
I think its funny they would leave it with a stranger.

yeah you're right man, Fedex usually does work out cheaper. And about them leaving it with a stranger - this is the 4th time, 3 were at school in Mass. and now here in Ohio. Universal suckage apparently, and now I have to play detective because of it.

If I lived in an apartment complex I would ALWAYS expect the delivery guy (or hot chick with short shorts) to leave the package at the OFFICE!!! (with naughty pictures if it's the chick with the short shorts... most likely it's some dude) Then you can pick it up on Saturday or ask them to enter your apartment to put it there. I don't know of any apartment that wouldn't do this.

At my house, UPS will leave my stuff on MY porch sort of hidden (blocked from street view by bushes) but I live in a relatively crime free area. When Kenne Bell sent me my SC they used FedEx and I HAD to be there for delivery. If it went three times and no sig from me it would go back to KB. They would not leave it with a neighbor. They would not let me pick it up (unless shipper "KB" says so). Cause it was a high priced item. Generally, I have no complaints with either UPS or FedEx. But there was some small shipping company I dealt with ordering stuff off of Proform (Exercise equipment). They were the definition of ****.

I have no problems with ups just fedex. But I have a good relationship with my ups guy and told him if im not home just to leave it in the back of my house...they use the same guy on the same route everyday.

But overall I like UPS more because fedex has lost 2 of my packages and wouldnt give me insurance money on one because they delivered it to the wrong zipcode.

that's because The Helty works for Fedex

but ups and fedex are pretty much on par, with the edge going to fedex. ups doesn't get here till 6pm, but fedex comes in the morning. ups's tracking system also sucks balls.

I know on summit there is an option for a work address and for it to be shipped there, maybe you should try that?

I'm not sure how it works in the states but here UPS can't give the package to some stranger unless you specify it in the little ticket they give you the first time they pass and stick it in the front door the next day.

Well I drive for Fedex, so I have to agree we're better! Anyway, anybody who gets car parts gets them left someplace safe and out of sight. If it's an apartment, I write on the tag that it's from Procharger or whoever, so they'll know it's something they want right away and can pick up at the station that night if they want.

Well I really just don't know what I should do now. I mean, its clear that whoever has the part is not going to bring it by here... and I don't even know where to start looking.

    you're F'kin right bish  (nice sig ;) )

really guys, there are a LOT of differences between both companies. What FedEx are you talking about? Express? Ground? Home Delivery? There are like 9 different FedEx companies. Ground is actually contracted out by FedEx.

When it comes to working for either company, FedEx hands down. :nice:

BTW, I get 75% off shipping with FedEx, so if you guys wanna have your parts shipped to me, I'll hold on to em for you until you can come get them :D

I have had alot better expereinces with UPS than FEDEX.
FEDEX had me waiting for four gaskets for two weeks! :nonono:
My stuff always came on time from UPS.

I'll get right on it. Whats the origin zip code?

Here you go, using FedEx Express, 2 Day service. I'll get a Ground quote later, they're cheaper.

    FedE Express 2-Day: $370.

    Helty kicks ass discount: $92

    Using FedEx Home Delivery: $295

    Helty kicks ass discount: $74

Not 100% sure if I get a discount withj Ground, but Express is faster anyway for only $18 more.
