Finally after 5 years and countless dollars and 2 painters the car is Blue. That is the second white that was on the car. The first white was "SUPPOSED" to be 9D - "Polar white". Well it was white but not even close to what I or the painter wanted. So we blocked it back down and got a different year and code "Polar White". This was the correct white. The Blue is a Newer mustang color "Bright Atlantic Blue". And it actually pretty close to the factory Med. Blue Mettalic A very late night/early morning saw the blue go on and the clear afterward. Just need to "scuff and buff" it and then get all the bolt-on's buffed and start the reassembly.
Yeah I know Sal. I wasn't going for originally I've changed a bunch of other little things, and some bigger ones. Once I get all the other goodies I'll post some more pictures.
Are you by chance married to a redhead? I am just trying to find out what else we have in common, lol. Everyother board I am on my username is cobraii351, and my cobra is blue with white stripes. So I must say you have good taste . Anyway the car looks great, cant wait to see it put together (your not painting the window trim black are you ).

Chris, Sorry the wife is blonde, no red-head here. I think at one point several years ago you had sent me some pictures of you vehicle for me to send to the PA DOT to get my "classic Vehicle" plates as I didn't have mine painted yet and I at the time was in a rush to get it painted and get the plates back. LOL that was only 3 years ago. LOL. Thanks guys! It's amazing just to see it get this far after waiting all these years. Manny, I used a tool like this http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=2547&itemType=PRODUCT with the pointed "hook" end you slide it under the window molding and trim. With the point you pry back the molding clips and gently lift the trim. I usually put a strip or wide masking tape down inside the trim on the glass to keep from scratching the glass. Also be very carefull not to hook the edge of the glass as you can chip and crack the windshield from the edge (don't ask how I know this), the back window is tempered it's not as big an issue on the back.
Here are the latest pictures. I think I heard the boxes cry a little as I opened them up last night. Almost all of the chrome trim was NOS in the original boxes. It was SO nice having the headlight bucket kits with everything in them. The bumpers are fiberglass reproductions. The "fit" as they were made didn't make the body guy happy so we spent a fair amount of time making them contour the body. They look soo much better then when I first got them. Once we do a little more buffing the outside will be almost complete.
You know I think I remember sending you those pics wa back, lol, I know how slow the process can be. The car looks great man, I like the glass bumpers, I am thinking about doing those next time I do the body (along with a list of other things).
all I can really say is WOW! Hope to see it at Carlisle next year, and if you get it there I wouldn't be surprised to see it grab quite a bit of attention.
Thanks Guys! I'll be at Carlisle (if Carlisle is there...)! I was quite pissed it wasn't done for this year. But it was better not to rush things in the long run. I'm not regreting the fiberglass bumpers at all. I could have spent a little more time getting the lines a little closer. But with the work we did do they turned out great I think, and without the trim I think it cleans the look up a little. Less places for dirt to lay and collect. Tim
Looks great! In the end, it's always worth the hassle, even though it seems like there's always a couple of little things that we wish would have gotten a tad more attention, huh? Always liked the blue w/white cars. Never had one...came close a few years back, but was too many $$$ for all the stuff it still needed.
Tim, you are the most devoted mustang ii fan i have ever known. I am very glad you did not "give up the ship" as i am sure most quitters would with all the setbacks you encountered. Your car is impeccable and truly a car driven by the love of mustang ii-generation phanatic. Congratulations and now you can cruise to my house in the cobra and we can picnic in Valley Forge together. Think of the pictures, 1 blue w/ white and 1 white w/ blue in Valley Forge Park! Cobraii351, how did you mount the fiberglass bumpers? I picked up a set of them for my car and was thinking of a few things. I have been leaning towards bondong the glass right to my NOS rebars but I am not sure.
