I know this whole thing was just him trying to get more publicity for himself, but i dont care what anyone says, i would LOVE to own just a small fraction of the awesome cars/bikes he has.

Jay Leno has the TONIGHT SHOW. He is a mega mega Television star. The amount of publicity he gets from this won't equal 30 seconds of his show each night.

Leno is a bonafied CAR GUY. He has tremendous respect for cars, the way they're made, their history. I can't think of anyone else (other than myself) whom I'd rather see owning one. Jay will drive his and not just when the cameras are on. He spends amazing time and money quietly putting together one of the biggest car collections in the world.

Last night he had Tom Cruise on the show. Tom mentions, "I hear you got a new car." Jay says something like, "Yeah I bought a Ford." They were both about to start giggling they are so excited about the car. Tom asks, "did you guy it or did they give it to you?" Jay responds that he has to buy cars, but that Tom gets his stuff for free.

It was a pretty cool exchange. They both went on about how when you're rich and famous, nobody wants you to pay. But when they were broke and needed FREEBIES, there were none to be found. They seemed to enjoy it as well as feel guilty about it.

I met Leno once in 1978 or 79 at the Ice House (Comedy club in Pasadena). He was a pretty nice guy. Not yet BIG TIME, but he had been on Carson several times, still very relaxed.
