Keep dreaming????? I've beaten a handfull in my Mach 1 and your gonna try and tell me a Cobra doesn't have a chance??
Seems to me pony-inspired is a borderline troll since so far everything I read from him are statements that are made to incite people to argue but I might be wrong and he's just grosslly misinformed on how well mustangs perform, I know I was until I came to this site
Yeah, you're right. An 04 cobra with around 370 rwhp stock would have no chance against an ls1 f body with 320 or so at the crank. PUT DOWN THE PIPE.
An 03/04 Cobra will beat a stock LS1 like a red headed step child. P.S. sorry to any red headed step children out there.
not to mention any passengers in the cobra as well. my buddy took me for a ride in his cobra vert, it was like no car i've ever been in, the acceleration is more like a roller coaster. my inner organs were literally mush after our little ride. that car beats you up.
With the buffet plate you get bananas, peaches, grapes and plums. "I ain't falling for no banana in my tailpipe!"
I think the '04 Cobra is comparable to the '02 Firehawks. The base LS1's would put up an "LS1" fight but would fall slightly short against the SC Cobra's. Or you can look at it like this--> For $7-$8,000 you can buy a ratty, but low 13 sec LS1. Or spend $35,000 for a S/C Cobra & run only two tenths faster...
Or get a nice low mileage one with Kebra for 27k then another 1500 in mods is reliable 450 rwhp low 12 high 11 sec monster
The Z28 is pretty good out of the hole. I have a friend with a few suspension mods that cuts 1.7 60fts with MT ET streets on it. Not to shabby. I would love to get a 1.7, I'll have to settle with my 1.9. Slap on some NO2 and be done!
I've seen stock 01/02 WS6s and SSs cut 12.7s-12.8s stock and trap 109 or so with a good driver. You most likely outdrove them and that is most of the race. One of the best mods is a good driver!
spray it....the lt1's forced me to nitrous back in '93 and i have been a junkie ever since. my most recent stang is a '90 aod 'vert 3.73's and street tires i ran a 13.60 on the 100 shot zex dry kit it's there when you want it...or need it. and just like a mild mannered stang the rest of the day
35K for a S/C Cobra? not sure where you buy your cars at, but I bought my Cobra off the dealer with 166 miles for $30,760... also, while the Fbody might be able to keep up with the Terminator in the 1/8th mile, (due to easier ability to launch) after that it will be all Cobra, that's including the Firehawk..
My friend picked up an old '98 Camaro LS1 for $7,000.00 and it ran 13.1 without any modification. With free mod's. and exhaust, it's in the 12's easy. Those LS1's are bad ass and pull like all hell after 2nd gear.
