Ford dropping V8s for the Mustang?

    That was great link to autosavant. The thing for us enthusiast to think about here is it's basically where Ford was looking forward enough to make changes, that would allow to remain as players in the market. Much like they did in the early 70's with the Mustang II. They kept some styling cues that were important and reorganized the powerplants available and threw some new suspension technology in at the same time. This is definitely a good business plan on Ford's side with plenty of foresight.

    It's hard for me to get excited about...

    1.) A new v8 engine for our Mustangs
    2.) A new Mustang altogether

    The dealer markups on the Challenger and Camaro will no doubt be several $ks above an already remarkably higher than S197 GT Mustang.

    Ford putting a Mustang for the masses in the same stable as the Challenger and Camaro just doesn't seem obtainable.

    Yeah we can up the horsepower, which is what so many people harp on, but it's also gonna up the price in a linear fashion.

    I could just be comparing apples, to oranges, to...bananas.
