I tore my 86 ho block apart still yet to remove the pistons. I noticed that the pistons have no valve reliefs and look like the bottom of a saucer dish? I thought i was supposed to have forged flat tops in there. so what i was wondering if someone has stuffed some other pistons in there how do you identify if they are forged or cast do not know my metals good enought to eyeball them. I am sure there has to be a marking on them somewhere any info would be greatly appreciated . thanks in advance you guys are always a big help to me.

The 86 HO used forged pistons without valve reliefs. That is why you have to be very careful putting an aftermarket cam in an 86 block.
