Hey guys,

Today I dropped my gas tank so I could siphon the gas out of it, in preparation to replace the fuel filler gasket. (Emptied the gas tank to temporarily stop the car from leaking all over my garage and fumin' up the place)

Well, When I removed the fuel filler neck, half of the gasket ripped and is now floating around in my gas tank. From the looks of it, I can't get it out unless I took the tank apart, which I'm not sure is possible/i'm not comfortable doing.

So my question is: If I left it floating around in my tank, would that cause any problems?

I would remove it. It might jam up the sender unit. It should not be too difficult to remove it. If it is too large to fit through the opening, bend up a cat hanger and get it out.
