i noticed that lately when i start up and take off the car feels lacking in power and kinda hesitates in first..... i'm thinking it might be the fuel filter..... where is it located and how hard would it be to change it out???? also i heard on the news that gas stations locally are reported of "watering" down the gas because of the prices.... could that be it??? let me know what you think....

I changed my filter a couple of months ago...wasn't too hard but there is a plastic shield you have to noodle with to get to it.

As for the watering down of the gas...man. that would be bad.

I think that if you had significant water in the fuel, the engine would stall. But it wouldn't hurt to add a bottle or two of water remover & fuel system antifreeze. The type with ISOPROPYL alcohol is the best.

Not to hijack the thread. But are all fuel filters for our cars pretty much the same? I am close to 30k miles and was going to replace mine soon.

SUPER easy to swap out the f/f on these cars. Look under the car directly under the driver door. You'll see the fuel lines running in/out and a plastic cover. Remove the cover and the filter has quick release clamps. I'd recommend depressurizing the system first as I had quite a bit of gas squirt out.

I changed mine at 15k and will every 15k thereafter.

The clips you only have to slightly squeeze the clip then pull apart. :)
