I replaced my entire fuel sending unit (stock replacement) over the summer and the gas guage has read incorrectly ever since. The minimum it will read is a little bit greater than a quarter of a tank. Can I fix this without dropping the tank again? I don't want to take those fuel lines off again...annoying as hell.

If your gauge was accurate before, I would say you will need to remove the sender again. It sounds like maybe the float is not travelling all the way. May be rubbing the side of the tank? Possibly you got the wrong part and is not compatible with the original gauge.

Go to Sears and spend ten bucks on a fuel line disconnect set. It makes unhooking the lines a breeze.

And yes, you will need to drop the tank again to fix whatever's wrong.

I was using a Snap-On disconnect set the first time and it still took us a good amount of time. The tool that I had picked up from Advance didn't fit at all. OK, only way is to drop the tank again...got it. That's what I figured.
