My 05 GT has started something new. After about 3 miles of driving, the fuel gauge drops to empty, the low fuel warning appears on the message center along with the warning “DTE FLI Data Err" (Distance to empty, fuel level indicator data error?). After the first time this happened the little engine icon lit up and remained lit ever since. I assume this is to tell me there was a problem.

The guage reads correctly when I first start it up. This started right after I rotated the tires and changed the oil, though it is hard to see how the two may be related. Anyone see the problem before? Ideas for fixes?

    Thanks in advance.

I would take it to the dealer.

Search for TSB 06-10-13, it addresses exactly what you are dealing with. Known problem with a known fix.
