took me and my buddy about an 1 1/2 hours, we werent rushing, we kinda goofed off a bit here and there...make sure you have like no gas left and someone to kinda help you get the tank down, its much easier. if the ring looks fine, then there is no reason to replace it, fuel filler neck i didnt replace, no leaks or anything, car runs great now!

Your 13 year old filler neck seal might tear while dropping the tank.
I would have it on hand just in case.
That seal is cheap so might as well replace it while your in there. (cheap insurance against leaks)

The lock ring is reusable.
If you do not have the proper tool to remove the lock ring use a brass punch to avoid sparks.

Take your time and no smoking

Aslo I recommend you solder the new fuel pump wires after crimping them together.
If $$ permits replace your fuel level sender while your there.

Good Luck!
