I called the auto parts store for a power steering pressure hose today. The guy looks in his catalog then says "Huh, that's weird, Gates doesn't have any listing for 74-78 Mustangs. Sorry, I can't help you." So I checked the Gates website and they do show part numbers for the MII. I called the guy back with the part number and he says he can have the hose tomorrow. Cool.

Now I'm wondering if Gates isn't listing the 74-78 Mustang in their catalog because the parts are going out of production? Anyways, I made PDFs of all the Gates MII listings. I'll leave them available for download for a few weeks.

If anybody is looking for a Gates part, don't be surprised if the counter guy can't find the part number. But if you bring him the number, he could punch it up in his computer and maybe there's still some stock in his warehouse.

I hope not because when I was told the same thing I spent well over an hour going through every power steering hose in the local parts house inventory and only found one remotely close. It works, but about 10 to 12 inches longer than it needed to be. Thanks for posting the part numbers!

No problem. BTW, these part numbers aren't just for power steering. There's also rad hoses, V-belts, rack & pinion repair kits and some other miscellaneous stuff.
