I recently bought a 1987 mustang lx conv with 150K. my problems is that my gauges dont light up, the only light thats I see at night is the "brake" and Seatbelt" I removed the gauge cluster and it seems that water got inside. I bought another gauge cluster at a local junk yard but it came out off a 4 cyl mustang. and it lights up but the gauges dont work. have you guys ever had this problem and what have you done to fix the problem..

What year model did the new cluster come from? Your car has to use a cluster from an 87-89 model. If you go with a 90-93 cluster you need to rewire it for the the gauges to work properly.

And a quick way to tell year model of the cluster if you don't know. 87-89 cluster has a greenish circuit board on the back side. 90-93 is a pinkish color
