my friend is thinking of buying a 98 cobra. The car is a 5 speed and has a 4.30 gear in it, we were wondering if the car wouud "run out" of gear at the end of the quarter mile.

no the 4.30's are just the right gear for the 1/4, minus the 4.56's. They will put you well into 4th

a 4v loves plenty of gear in the 1/4 mile. mine is stock with 3.27 and it crosses the traps halfway into 3rd gear. i shift at 6000. his car would be in 4th like greenham64 says and that would be perfect. only thing i would be careful of is check out the car because whoever owns it must have been runnin it unless you know the person i would be cautious before investing into someone elses hotrod

4.30's=the perfect street/strip gear for modular n/a cobras...

4.56's=best strip gear and a really really fun street gear... :nice:
