gears

    what kind of gears can you put into a 87 2.3 stang to make it quicker?

    so if i buy them i can just put them into my regular rearend or would i have to get a 8.8 rearend?also i forgot to say that it is a 5spd

    look in summit they sell them for 7.5 and 8.8 i believe.

    If you get 4.10's, I hope you don't plan on driving on the highway too much.

    My mustang had 3.73's in it, and it would run at 3000 RPM on the highway at 75 mph. With 4.10's you'd be hitting 3000 RPM at 65 mph or maybe even earlier.

    4.56's and a spool.
    Seriously you may even want to see how much your local rear-end shop can get them for. With them doing the install sometimes you can get a better deal ordering from them.
    4.10 are ok for around town, some highway. I personally like my 3.73's.

    Keep the 3.73's in there and swap the engine.
