As of now at the end of the year I will be getting $5000. I need a new transmission (tremec $850) and motor. I am wanting it to be a daily driver with some track time and I already have my suspension done. But need the trans and motor redone or replaced. I would like to have who ever does my work to also pull the motor and trans to rebuild it(labor). What would you guys suggest as far as what setup to do. I am not sure how much machine work and labor is to do what I am wanting. I am looking for a goal between 300-350whp decent gas mileage and most important reliabilty. Any help would be nice.
    Thanks
    Jason

I would think if you have a nice h/c/i fresh 302 and tranny installed its going to be more then $5k.

Like Shaolin Crane said, do it yourself and 5k should be enough. With labor as high as it is today and guys taking their time doing the work at a shop...$$$. Even taking the motor/trans out yourself and having a shop re-install motor/trans would save a lot of $.
