Just got back from testing the 2010 GT. Let me just say it is an amazing car, I can't believe how good they sound stock. Definitely the best sounding stock car on the road. Some people say the S197 feels big but it didn't feel big at all. Also I like the layout of the engine compartment seems to be lots of room and easy access to everything. The 315hp feels quick and they get up and go without issues. It was raining out so I tested the traction control and it also works as advertised. The interior is perfect to me and loved everything about the car. I then got back into my car and drove home still happy with how she runs and decided to treat her to a new battery. All in all the 2010 is awesome and I'm sure the same goes to the 05-09s.
The interior seems to be a bit more fitting compared to the sn95s---granted it isn't exactly fair for me to compare my 10 year old car against a newer one, however the car feels much more solid. There are some misc items that need to be changed asap such as the intake on these cars. It's no secret that a programmer/intake combo really wakes these cars up. I personally went with a JLT/SCT combo and WILL compare before and after at the beloved HRP. Did you happen to test drive an auto?
Glad you enjoyed the test drive. Did you get your 50 bucks? Your a braver man than me. If I test drove that car, I would probably buy it. I'm staying away from them right now. I recently went to one of the local ford dealerships to buy a key for my car. I saw a pretty decked out 2010 Mineral Grey GT which happens to be my favorite color. I just walked by it. As I walked by the car, I heard this voice in my head say "It's only money". That was a famous saying one of my retired co-workers would say. He's right to a point. Pearl02.
Yup it was the auto. I couldn't believe how much better the auto up-shifts and downshifts compared to the sn95s. The sales guy kept telling me don't baby the car. I told him its poring rain out and I didn't want to go to crazy. Eventually I did and had the tires spinning going onto the highway. They are just great cars and extremely well refined. All they need are 3.73 gears, a JLT CAI, 93 Oct tune and it would be perfect. There was one GT in the show room that was red and had the silver stripes on it. If I had the money I would have bought that car. No, I forgot to bring the paper to sing. I do know what you mean. It was hard getting back into my car after driving the new stang. I will have one eventually, don't think it will be the 2010 but it will be an S197.
The GT I looked at had some type of handling package that came with 3.73 gears. I believe it was another 1200 for the package. I'm not sure what else comes with this package. Pearl02.
I'm glad it's not just me that gets the bug to upgrade every so often. I have my '03 paid for, so that's what keeps me from taking the plunge on an '05-'09. Although I pass one of the biggest Ford dealers every day on my way to work, and their used Mustang inventory really makes me want to stop and look. But, I have to agree with the comment someone made earlier that the S197's are EVERYWHERE and that they all seem to be modded out. I'm a big fan of seeing an "older" mustang that's been treated well. Not that my car is old, but as each day passes by, it gets a little older and therefore in my mind a little nicer. Just my incoherent .02.
x10. Although I do love the 2010s. They look better to me than the 05-09s. I have a buddy here at school that has one, and they are SO much more than "just a Mustang" that they were 10 years ago. The interior, the exterior, the ride quality, the handling, and of course the power. They're just so well rounded. They are by far the best all-around Mustang that Ford has ever built, and for that, I salute them. -Will
I hope the 2011 mach 1 comes out with that coyote motor that would be worth holding on to the gt for a couple more years.
99-04 will be the best looking bodystyle forever in my mind... ... but new model interiors FTMFW. Inside 05+ is where it's at, they are nothing short of sexy and im jealous.
Ordered a JLT intake/SCT combo already however that will be it for now. Should be good for some easy low 13s with the combo and exhaust.
