Ok, I've only been to the track once in my life for 1 run when i was 17 so im kinda nervous.. I have MT slicks that i put on the car - in another post i think mob was saying avoid the water box, does that only apply to street tires? should i do the same? I kinda dont know if i should just heat them a little bit or not.. sorry kinda novice here when it comes to the "track" anyways here are some pics of the car with the slicks on it... p.s. the slicks were a freebee
thanks man! you have a beautiful car too! i hope its decently fast... or i hope i dont embarass myself that would suck
Thanks bro. I've never been to the track, so I'm sure you'll do at least better than me. I'd just watch everyone go for a couple hours and then go myself. Good luck!
thanks man, im hoping i can post up a vid tomorrow... anyone else? any suggestions? things i should/shouldnt do?
well its an edelbrock performer intake.. and id be happy with mid 13's its like my first time at the track and ill probably only be able to get 1 or 2 runs in if im lucky..
I should run just so I can beat you with my fantastical shifting ability!!!!! tomorrow, you'll be when the video pops up with me and my stock car beating you!!! lol, j/k!!
anyway, I think with slicks you'll want to heat them in the water box...it's street radial tires that you don't want to heat!!
with slicks you want to back into the water box and do a good burnout while you ride out of the water box.
you will want to hit the water box and heat them up. the only time you drive around the water box is when you're on street tires. there is no reason to burn out for any length of time on them (you spin 'em reaaaalllly quick just to clean 'em off, thats it). go ahead and spin 'em!
yea, 3.73's gcwh02 - thanks for the info, Ill try and scope out how other people are doing it too. thats kinda what i figured that i would do a burnout while i rode out of the waterbox.. what exactly does the waterbox do??
Unless of course you live in North Alabama where it is customary for moron with hosepipe to spray in front of your car and watch you drive through it. Great! You should have fun with those slicks
i mean here's my combo - 306, twisted wedge heads, f-cam, edelbrock performer intake, full exhaust (shortie headers), 30lb injectors, 3.73's and the slicks. Like i said earlier ill be happy with a mid 13 it is my first time really
