My dad tells me today that i need to clean up the back porch a little, meaning I need to get my engine up on a stand and the tranny out of the way.
Any recommendations on types of stands to get? I was looking at just the basic 1000lb one from harbor freight, it's got the t-style arm extending from the base instead of two arms. i'd like to have to arms for stability, but I don't have a lot of space or money.

    Any recommendations or advice?

I have the one your looking at,
It works well for light motors.
I have found that after assy of the short block I try and place it in a spot that will not require too much movment of the stand and finish the head and intake Ect.

The design is not the best as it wants to tip when moved with a lot of weight.
It can be done carefully tho.
    My 2cts.
