Ok so since i bullchitted and didnt upgrade them yet i REALLY need to. So i was wondering other than price whats the main difference between these two setups? Bilstein Shocks & Struts at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! And Tokico D-Spec Adjustable Strut & Shock Kit (94-04 excl. IRS Cobra) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! Just wondering so when the good ole' tax fairy comes i'll be ready
i would say the tokico because they are adjustable. i have heard the blistens are pretty stiff riding.
Yea i want the suspension to be set up for corner carving but still have adjustability, so thats why i was looking at those. I really want to step up my suspension.
I have tokico illuminas on my 97. I origionally bought them for my 88, but later transfered them to the 97. Tokico makes a good shock and is a bit more economical than the bilstein. The adjustments on the Tokico are noticible and make a difference in the handling, depending on what you want to do. I normally left it in '1' during daily driving and switched it to 5 when I was on the auto-X track. I like my tokicos quite a bit. Now, they have 100k or more miles and I'm still running them. Of course, they are a lot softer now. On 1, they are noticibly soggy and don't control the springs very well (they were 5.0 fox struts to start with, so not too surprised), but on 5 they still work well.
actually the bilsteins are not all that rough i like them a lot. and they work good for the corners too.
cool i just want this thing to handle like its on rails, so those are what i'm more than likely going with
You can get Koni Sport adjustables (what I have) slightly cheaper than bilsteins at Stangsuspension.com You'll be on rails with these.
