on my camry, i had to replace the midpipe because the inspector said it was leaking

so 4 bolts were totally rusted and one broke, and the o2 sensor wouldnt come out either

to get the one that broke out, i am going to have to take the header off

sorry ... i had to rant

boy what a pain. i spent pretty much all day saturday on this damn thing. i ended up having to take the exhaust out from the mid-pipe back, and of course the damn o2 sensor wouldn't come out either, so i cut the wires. then i took a sawzall to the rusted bolts and put it all back together.

now i need new rubber hangers and i need to splice the 02 wires back together.

then i'll cross my fingers and hope that the inspector doesn't notice the broken bolt

not selling it .. buying it, from my wife's parents (sort of, they are actually giving us both their cars) ... i probably should have just had someone do it and had the inlaws pay for it, but they are giving them to us and they don't have much money left, and it just felt wrong.

the stupid midpipe cost almost $300 and quote for the install was another $300. given the headaches, it might have been worth it
