I need new struts and shocks on my 05 mustang GT and was wondering if a new take off set of GT 500 Struts with springs for the front and a set of shocks and springs for the back will slide right in and what the difference is betwen the regular GT stuff and the GT 500 stuff?? are they performace valved and stiffer springs or what?
    Thanks for taking the time.

I'm sure the GT500 spring and struts should fit right in since it is the same chassis/unibody as the GT. The only difference I believe is that the GT500 parts are a bit stiffer; they may also have slight difference in idle height of the car.

Physically they will fit, but I wouldn't advise putting GT500 stuff on your GT. The GT500 weighs more, so the spring rates and shock valving is different.

I was thinking of doing the swap because you can pick up both springs and the struts and shocks with the front sway bar off of a new Gt 500 for like $250 by the time it is at your door so it sounds like a good deal. I was hoping that someone had maybee done this and it worked well. how much more than an 05 Gt does a GT 500 Wiegh, I have a pretty hefty stereo in the trunk?

The GT500 engine weighs about 400lbs more than the GT. The block is heavier, plus you have the blower.

Pretty much all of the extra weight is due to the iron block 5.4 and supercharger, so the struts will probably be less than ideal for the GT. Either get some stock struts off a GT, or upgrade with something aftermarket.

I still can't believe that they used iron to make the 5.4L block rather than Aluminum. I'm so glad my block is aluminum because if it was anything like my shafts, then I think a hole would have been punched through it by now.
