I am not sure the point of this video. Just who are they trying to target with it? Kelly Clarkson's fan base is what, 15-25 year old girls/woman? Is that who they are targetting this 500hp/$45000-$60000 (depending on mark up's) limited edition car to? It just doesnt make sence to me. Seems to me they would want to go with something maybe from the era of the original GT500, or maybe something in tune with todays 30-50yo male who will be buying most, if not all of them.
I'm thinking there are a lot more people who like Kelly clarkson than just 15-25 yr old women. Her music has done very well. And is popular with a lot of people. Including the 18-36 yr old men. Which at least those that are in the higher paying fields (tech industry as an example) can afford such a car. As for going with something from the orginal GT500 era. I think that was what the race was about. Showing the heritage of the car.
You guys are reading way to much into this ,,,,,,,, Ford has a sponsorship deal with American Idol that includes the free use of their product (including both Kelly - what's her name - and "the doofus winner") .... Myself: I still want to know what she's doing shacked-up in that desert motel?
As an example of this, there's a middle-aged guy living near me that drives a convertible C5 Corvette; he pulled past the security gate one day and couldn't turn his stereo down fast enough. Busted him listening to some Kelly Clarkson -- he admitted it was a CD and not the radio -- I shook my head and continued to clean my car. Of course, Kelly Clarkson is pretty hot. . .
I'll admit it, I like Kelly, the song, the commercial, and of course the car, and I'm 36. Makes me wish I had a GT500 on order, not just a lowly GT Premium Vert, ha, ha. Oh yeah, and I just sold my C5 Corvette to get the GT

What's more manly than a hot chick driving a fast car? They say mustangs are girls cars. But I like girls so that's ok. If I wanted to impress boys I'd get a chevy.
It's not a trollish comment. It is a simple response to people who say the mustang is a girl's car. If you haven't heard someone make that comment. Then you have missed some of the conversations that have gone on on this very site. It seems to be used mostly by Chevy drivers who think HP and engine size are all that counts. Whereas the mustang has been many times referred to as a car for secretarys.
As someone once said, why can't we all just get along? I'm a 53-year-old married guy and I like Kelly Clarkson. She's hot. I checked itunes for her song, "Go." Not released apparently. I want it. (I want the Shelby and Kelly too but I will settle for the song.)
I could be wrong but the blond in the older Gt looks like Kelly Clarkson with a blond wig. And thats a Ford song she's singing so I doubt it will be out for release. For those of you that have a problem with a woman being in the first commercial......"Just walk away" Love that song by her too.
Just MO but I still see the girl as to young. She still has a baby face. If they intend to use sex to sell the car then they should use a more mature looking woman. Don't get me wrong either she is hot and the nose ring turns me off quik. put her in a fusion maybe? lol
The other girl is most definitely Kelly in a blond wig. Something about one is part of the other, old Shelby vs. new. That kind of thing.
