How can I make a educated guestimate of my RWHP with the following mods:
     >K&N Air Filter
    > FRPP 65mm Throttle Body
    > FRPP Mass Air Conversion (need for it yet to be determined
through mechanic tuning results and boneyard parts availability and
cost. FRPP wants $699.00, Summit wants $550. Boneyard cost unknown, but
    cheaper for sure)
    > MSD Coil
    > MSD Ignition Module
    > 9mm FRPP Spark Plug wires
    > FRPP Distributer
    > FRPP Polished Aluminum, Finned, EFI Valve Covers with oil filler
    cap and FRPP gaskets
    > 160 degree thermostat (I asked the mechanic to replace it with a
    180 degree unit) stock=195
    > FRPP blue Silicone Hi-Miler Coolant Hose Kit
    > FRPP Four-Row HD Radiator
    > Flex Fan
    > BBK Underdrive Pulleys
    > 130 Amp Alternator and upgraded 8 gague wire
    > HD Sway Bar Rubber Bushings and HD End Links
    > Stock intake, heads, block, and rotating assembly
    > FRPP 1 5/8" Stainless Ceramic Coated Shorty Headers
    > BBK 2 1/2" X-Pipe w/Cats
    > Magnaflow 2 1/2" Cat-Back mufflers and tailpipe w/ 3" stainless
    >polished exhaust tips
    > FRPP HD Clutch kit and bearings
    > Summit firewall adjustable clutch cable and quadrant
     >Hurst Short-Throw Shifter
    > FRPP T-5 Transmission with FRPP steel throw-out bearing retainer
    > FRPP Aluminum driveshaft and U-Joints
    > FRPP 8.8 rear-end with FRPP 3.73 gear set
    > BBK Strut-Tower Brace
    > FRPP 180 MPH Speedometer, cable and Speedo Gear

    200-210 rwhp

but the valve covers are gonna give ya 50hp, :p

j/k :) , the only real thing I saw was some exhaust, t/b, I would get an intake manifold.

200RWHP...Valve cover details..nice but um..little over the top, and your Tstat is a little too cold for the 5.0 you'd be much better off with the 180 in there.

I'd have to agree with dstanggt50.

"MSD Coil, MSD Ignition Module, 9mm FRPP Spark Plug wires, FRPP Distributer"
-Not going to show much until upgraded air/fuel system.

"160 degree thermostat (I asked the mechanic to replace it with a
180 degree unit), FRPP blue Silicone Hi-Miler Coolant Hose Kit, FRPP Four-Row HD Radiator, Flex Fan"
-Gonna keep the engine running cool, but maybe too cool. Remember the computer runs in a different loop until the engine reaches proper operating temperature. Cooler is not always better.

"Stock intake, heads, block, and rotating assembly"
-Going to limit the amount of horsepower the engine can handle. The lower intake and stock heads are some of the most restrictive parts on the engine unless they are ported.

    "FRPP 1 5/8" Stainless Ceramic Coated Shorty Headers, BBK 2 1/2" X-Pipe w/Cats, Magnaflow 2 1/2" Cat-Back mufflers"
-The only real components that are really going to produce any noticible horsepower until further mods are done.

I'm not trying to bring you down or anything like that, but most of the parts you listed are just for looks and driveability. You have to remember that stock 5.0's were rated at 215 flywheel hp. With your mods your probably looking at somewhere between 230 to 250 flywheel hp but at the wheels its more like 200 to 215.

I will first determine if I have E7TE or E6TE by measuring the plug hole depth in the head...then if I have E7TE's I will save for an intake, heads and cam.

    I think it's a good start.

Oh yeah, KYB Struts and Shocks are on the car also. :)

I have all the stuff you have plus typhoon intake, 76mm MAF and my e7s are ported and I don't have any cats on my x-pipe. I am hoping to put down at least 230-240 rwhp. :(

I tell you, I'll not let some of you negative guys get me down. I love my 5.0. I think I have a super foundation for the remaining mods of intake, heads and cam.

It's waaay better than stock and that's what counts. I know it's not a 12 second car.

I want to know what the hp is, that's all.

Somewhere between 200-250 is what I gather. And I'm happy.

    Don't be negative, be happy!

That’s all that counts then :nice: Good luck and I hope you achieve your goals.

Yeah but your asking us how much horsepower your making and you list mostly cosmetic/drivabilty mods.

No, I listed ALL my mods.

But I could have weeded out all that stuff and asked what the hp is with pulleys, air filter, throttle body, and exhaust.

You asked "us" how to make an educated guess..but it sounds like you've already decied what the cas is making in terms of power. I think you were just looking to do a little show and tell, while looking for a shoulder pat. My reason for this thinking is the fact you've listed EVERY damn option available on the car, I may have missed it between the the "sway bar" and the "180 speedo", but did you list intermittent wipers?? I'm sure it's a nice car. You have a good foundation for power, and as I stated previously your making a decent 200RWHP..nothing to be ashamed of.

Damn Right! I'm new at this. I wanted to hear if I was on track...nothing wrong with that. Giving someone a little pat won't kill you!

I asked the HP and several people gave an opinion. From this I gathered the 200-250hp estimate. I didn't decide what HP the car is making on my own.

I appreciate all the honest opinions.

    :)

By the way. I did not
    list options. I listed mods.
I installed the 180MHP speedo (you should try it, fun job) and also the HD sway bar bushings you mentioned. These were upgrades not options.

My mods included handling and drivability as well as modest engine flow inprovements. The valve covers are the only cosmetic item in the list. Am I not allowed one indulgence? :)
