Last time I checked, the true owner of the car is a SCOA member, and I do not think they have sold it.

They are also not located in MA, where the ebay listing says the car is.

I was coming over to post up the same thing. The $10K BIN should flag it if nothing else does.

OK, so what if I win the auction by bidding $10k, and they can not produce the car?

I assume that I can sue, assuming I can find the person responsible for the listing.

/me starts to type a letter to his former Saleen owner lawyer friend

Strange though to say the least. Has anyone looked at the actual bids and bid retractions? It appears people are hitting this auction hard with super high bids, then the seller ( or fake seller ) cancels the bid. It looks like there are more than two guys bidding this thing up for fun.

If the seller is legit, why does he not take his own new pictures of the car???

This listing (#4607331862) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.

The seller (linked above) was not legit.

Ebay FINALLY removed it after it had been reported as a scam several times.
Some people on other boards have gotten so tired of the scams & Ebay's (lack of) quick removal, that they've been taking the auctions and bidding them to ridiculous numbers to scare people off & create more hassle for the scammer, like repeatedly deleting all their bogus bids....:rlaugh:

I emailed him and told him to get a real job and stop being a tool. I also reported it to ebay, sounds like with a lot of other people. Sad thing is, it must work sometimes or they wouldn't be doing it.

I had one of these scam jockeys try to pull one off of my old ad. I listed a car, sold it, and the new owner took delivery. The same day the new owner picked it up, I received an e-mail from some guy asking me why I wanted to send the money to Illinois when the car was in Colorado. I told him that it had been sold and the high bidder had just picked up the car. He sent me a copy of the e-mail with the "second chance offer". The ad was identical to mine with the exception of the payment information. The "second chance offer" guy had gotten a cashiers check and was dropping it in the mail when he thought to write me and ask about the address. If he would have gone ahead and mailed it he would have been screwed.

Long story short, we reported everything to ebay and they pulled it within about an hour.

    F'ing scumbags!
