Question for you guys. Im coming down to your area (Siesta Key, FL) for vacation in two weeks. What do the beaches look like down there since the hurricane? Everything in "okay" shape? or should i reschedule. Thanks!
I would reschedule see as how the is a Tropical Storm/hurricane Ophelia literally hanging out on the East coast (Cape Canaveral area). It looks/projected to move off then loop around and hit us potentually(sp?). Keep an eye out if you do decide to come down here.
thanks alot! headed down tomorrow.. any recommendations? would it be a worthwhile trip to go see the everglades and / or the keys? looks like siesta key (sarasota) is about a 2hr drive to the glades... thanks again for your help!
Everything here in Tampa is fine. I dont know how the rebuilding is coming along in the Port Charlotte area. I'd do the keys and air boat ride in the Everglades. I've lived here 34 out of 36 years and still have yet to do the airboat thing.
Tampa is good! Clearwater Beach The Cause way (Dunedin & Courtney Campbell) ST. Pete Beach Indian Rocks Beach Treasure Island etc. It's all good on the West coast!
You have bad luck man another Tropical storm (possible Hurricane) is heading our way and may be here by Tuesday (Sarasota will be fine tho). I love the Keys, when I go it's very laid back and frozen drinks all day long . Fishing off charter boats is always relaxing and fun. If you like nature the Everglades is a great way to see nature the way it was thousands of years ago (unmolested). The air boat ride is pretty fun, it sits really low to the water so when they make sharp turn you feel like your going under. Bring your sun screen it's pretty sunny and non Floridian will burn easy. You Northerners are pretty pail have fun and enjoy.
we made it to sarasota yesterday. beautiful place you guys have down here. going to the everglades tomorrow if the weather holds out... dont forget missouri gets ALOT of sun too so im not too worried about burning. anyway, thanks for the help fellas. hope the storms dont get us!
