Guys who have recently painted..Come In. Guys, I am going to get my car painted this summer. It is dark green now with mystic stripes now. I am going to get it paint very close to the same color so I do not have to do door jams/engine bay, but I want to do stripes in the same color as the color, but with soem pearl in it. I guess sorta like ghost stripes. My car will need minor body work, few little dings. I have no idea how much this process costs. Do they sand the whole car down..? Approx how much should I plan on spending? $2500 or like $7000.
most times they wont strip the paint, just lightly sand the surface to scuff it so the new paint will stick. dents and dings would most likely be sanded down to the metal, fixed, primed and leveld out. after the cars surface is all flat and straight they start the painting proscess. you probably wouldnt need primer and thatll save you some $$
