Had four new JL speakers and an Alpine MRP F300 amp installed in my car. Has the factory radio till I decide on a new head unit. Picked it up today  and when I tried to adjust the speakers this is what I found. The fader plays sound from LR & LF to no sound RR & RF. Nothing from front to back. The balance control does just the opposite. Sound from right , none on the left. WTF. Installer said this is normal because its a factory and not an aftermarket radio.!!!! Am I missing something here . Anybody heard of thos BS. Any advice before I drive the stang through the showroom window:D

They hooked something up wrong, plain and simple. There's no reason, other than an improper installation that would cause that issue. If you only have one set of RCA jacks on your stereo and they used a Y adapter to split the source, that could potentially throw off the sound, but it would likely be that you'd lose sound if you adjusted the fade control to the front or rear, since most aftermarket stereos with one set of RCA's is either a subwoofer, or rear output. You'd still have balance control from left to right.

Your right on that one.. LOL. After three more trips back and a few harsh words things finally fixed the way it should have been done the first time. Besides having all the wireing wrong the guy tried to make it work with one adj. line out converter instead of the two required. Then he wired it up so you could only use the radio when the car was running :notnice:. Then he didn't use the remote power adaptor so couldn't use it in acc.mode. Anyway finally got it right and all is well :hail2: Added a 1200 wat amp subwoofer myself, with everything tuned up and can't wait for the summer cruise.
