I just wanted to make sure that this head gasket set would be fine? It seems the only thing I would need to get is a throttle body gasket and a GT40 intake manifold gasket. My engine deal wound up falling through and know I am just going to change out the head gaskets and my leaky front main seal. Also I should send the heads to a machine shop to get milled and the valves and springs checked over, right? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=FEL%2DHS9280PT%2D3&N=700+300563+4294908331+4294924760+4294840126+115&autoview=sku
I assume that you blew a head gasket? best advice i can give is to tear it down and ascess the damage. if you are unsure of how bad she is, post pics. I would mill the heads and have them checked out, yeah. Not to knock summit racing, but take that felpro number to local auto parts and have them look it up. By the time you pay a $9.95 "handleing charge" you can alraedy have it in your hand... I know autozone is good about carring felpro, try them on for size. If you already have other stuff to get, go ahead and grab it from summit, im just thinkin 10 bucks ontop of a 70 head gasket set is kinda steep. ~darren
yeah I just posted the summit link since it says more...I can get them at autozone for $75. Also I did blow a head gasket. Also I dont think it is too bad the weird part is that, my car started having water in the oil after I jump started it. Not even reving it, just letting it idle. It ocurred on a really cold day too. Someone brought up the point that I could have cracked the block if I had mostly water instead of coolant but that is not the case. I mean there wasnt a ton of water in it because my radiator also started leaking so I shut off the car and just wound up checking my oil too and it had a thin line of yellow or beige going through it. I then drained the oil and it had some water mixed in with it. Also previous to that jump start I changed my oil 5 days before that and the oil didnt have any water in it.
