Hey all are the headers on the 03's pretty good or should i get long tubes. Wanting to buy a mid pipe X most likely and I was noticing in alot of sigs that you all are making great numbers with exhaust mods that do not include header swaps. I also want my eaton ported, what are the prices on that and some pros and cons. Thanks everybody

most long tubes are only making 15-20 Rwhp. I'd spend my $$$ on something that will yield better results and numbers.

Headers on our snakes don't yield big gains versus the PITA it is to install + $, that's why you don't see too many install the headers. Uncle Meat may have a different opinion though.

No disagreement here! The only reason I have headers on my snake is because the motor was already out of the car for a head replacement. I figured I should take advantage of the situation and had them installed. The bottom line is the cost plus the pain of installation is not worth the gains you'll see on a mildly modified Cobra. There are cobra's running around on stock exhaust manifolds making over 500RWHP.

No, the heads didn't blow. I had the dreaded "Tick".....TWICE! My drivers side head has been replaced under warranty by Ford on 2 seperate occasions. Once at 1500 miles and again at 5000 miles.

Is this the recalled head I've heard about? I think they was installed on the 03' Cobras before November. It must be nice to have Ford issue a recall on your head(s). There is no way in hell Ford will ever recall our ( Lightning/Harley) heads :(

No, it wasn't a recall, but the problem is the one that many early '03 Cobra owners complain about.... It actually was a Service Message and there was a specific procedure the SVT Tech had to follow in order to determine if the head met the requirements for replacement.

Thats sad that it wasn't a recall but nice that they still covered it under another methood. I wonder if they've ever done this to those Lightning guys who's lost a plug or two?
