Hello all Im a big newbie to Fords in general I was mainly a big GM fan. I was looking for a 01 SS Camaro. But I drove an 98 Cobra and had to have it. It might be a little slower but oh well speed can always be fixed. Im looking forward to fixing this car up. Im just a little worried about the mileage it has 62k on the odo. Are these generally reliable cars. Anyways I wont ask a bunch of newb questions
I know where the search button is. Have a good weekend. :nice:

Congrats! 4.10's and drag radials are the first mods I would do... 62k is not that many miles...I bought mine with 44k and now have 67k, I've owned the car for a little more than 2yrs. If you treat it right I'm sure it'll last a while. If not you can always do a motor swap, lol.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome.

I owned a 97 Cobra and put over 50,000 miles on it, and they weren't easy miles. Lots of drag strip (and street) runs. The only thing I ever did was put in synthetic oil. They are stout cars. 60,000+ miles is nothing.

Its understandable that the Cobra convinced you to move from Chevy to Ford. I was always a GM guy, until a close friend took me for a ride in his new 96 Cobra convert. I had previously owned a Camaro and a Corvette. Both nice cars. But the fit and trim, along with the well packaged car made by the people at SVT made the switch easy. I love the look of the new vette, but I'm soooo happy with my car, I'm not looking back.

    me too!!!!

I just got rid of a 94 t-bird like a month ago, for my 97 cobra. It has everything that I wanted to put on the t-bird. I couldn't believe the first time that I opened it up on a back road. WOW, ok so maybe I missed third. Gotta get used to a five speed again. Keep me informed on your mods, as I will be getting started with my own. Good luck. Chris :D :D :D
