Does any one know how the project gt 500 got the hids to work. So far i have installed the 08 hid headlights replaced wiring harness and under the hood junction box with 08 parts the only thing i have not replaced or reversion coded is the smart junction box. if someone from the gt500 project team could contact me i would like to know what else was replaced. Thanks

I am very interested in this also. I was going Saleen but the lights I received were junk as far as I was concerned. Trying to get them returned and will go this route. How much did all these parts cost you so far? And did you pay full price or wholesale cost?

    thanks,LB

well i got the hids to work with a smart junction box from an 08 however the tire pressure monitoring system is different from 07 to 08 07 is direct antnnea while 08is wireless. now i need to know how to shut down tpms. did not want it on the car to begin with. anyone have ideas. sure would like to talk to someone about how project gt500 did this. parts manager at a local dealership has helped out
    tremendously to answer your question.

Was it more than the Saleen lights? They run $900 for everything.

right now i have a running tab with parts manager have not discussed price until i
get the bugs worked out ie tpms light. i have the option of returning everything if it does not work seemlessly and i can tell you this they do look sweet. if there is anyone from the gt500 project that can get in contact with me on this matter i would greatly appreciate it. i have full acess to ids and as built data. so this is not my first rodeo with this type of problem i just can not believe there would be no contact info for people who would like to do the same mods. i have contacted ford tech line and the only info they could give me was a special service message stating it can not be done. someone please help.

You might want to try to PM MRaburn as he is the owner of this car. He usually hangs out in the gt500 section from what I have seen so sending him a private message will probably be your best. I'm sure he can help you more than most at this point.

Definitely keep us informed. I'm sure there are a lot more than me that want to do this swap. I bought a set of Saleen's and they were broken before they even arrived. Working on getting that issue fixed but if it doesn't work out, I'll go this route.

CDC (Classic Design Concepts) did the work for MRaburn. try giving them a call and ask them how to make everything work.

Figured I'd get some input for everyone.... I wrote Patrick at CDC about a week and a half ago. Here is some excerpts from the email I got from Patrick, the guy who performed this install.

"...I actually performed the swap without the ’08 smart junction box. Again – keep in mind that the lights I used were pre-production lights direct from Valeo, so I do not believe they are representative of what is available now. The parts I used were not a plug-and-play kit; I had to do some wiring to make everything go together..."

"...I used an additional harness that pulls current from the battery via two relays, and uses the factory headlight wiring as the ‘signal’ to turn on the lights as well as activate the high beams. Nothing else on the car changed, and the lights worked great. I’m trying to track down some additional information about what has changed between the set I installed, and what is available now. As soon as I get any useful information, I’ll be sure to pass it along..."

I also checked with my local dealer and for the headlight assemblies, ballast, etc. it was like $1500 their cost. I decided to stick with Saleen as they go for $900 and everything is included.

I hope this helps and I will post if I receive any more info from CDC.
