i need a new engine for my car.. but i don't want anything "ordinary" i want something creative and unique. So.... i was thinking something small but yet powerful... so my question is.. would a mazda millenia 2.3L engine fit into my 1991 mustang LX .. and if so what kind of mods do i need to do? rear end? trans? cpu? any info and help would be greatly appreciated also any suggestions would be great. thanx
The short answer is probably- unless you have an unlimited budget, no. What IS a mazda millenia? Is it FWD or something? At any rate, the engine would be completely different and it'd probably be damn near impossible to make it work.
thanx alot .. any suggestions millenia is a luxury sport awesome cars lookem up the older ones had a 2.5l supercharged engine with about 240hp new ones are 2.3 with 240hp miller cycle engine anysuggestions would be a great help thanx again
But is it turbocharged? No. Really hard to make that work though, there would be alot of fabrication. If you like Millenias so much just get a Millenia.
Just drop in a 2.3T Ford Lima motor. If you really want to be different, build a 175+ hp N/A 2.3L or N/A 2.5L for it
Don't tear up a SVO to do this though !! Look for a 87-88' TC or a 85.5-86 XR-7 Couger. These cars are still pretty easy to get and has everything you need to convert you car to a 2.3T. Also if you car is a auto I would swap in a T-5. The T-5 will free up a few hp but will take way more abuse than the A4LD (autos)
yep, will work just fine. the borg warner T5 trans was used in the 2.3L cars from the early 80's up till 93. there is a really good chart on them out there somewhere, there is another at http://www.gt350mustang.com that has the gear ratios. the turbo cars had slightly higher torque ratings on them, but the gears between the two were almost identical.
