... and his fetish for white Saleens:

I'll have to check my copy of The Saleen Book to confirm the authenticity of this particular vehicle, but some of it seems legit.

The yellow shift boot is a bit too ricey, though.

And note that the rear wheels are the Speedline magnesium (appear to be 9" width) & the front wheels are the Speedline LeMans aluminum versions. Veddy odd.

The mix of Magnesium and Lemans wheels looks like crap!! Other then that, it looks like a clean car. Not a big fan of the front facia or the huge stroller handle, but to each his own...:rlaugh:

    Michael,
Just because it is white, doesn't mean I must have it!! Otherwise, your Saleen Cobra would be sitting in my museum :D
I will have to agree with George and Todd, that 99 saleen cobra speedster would be a far better car. I can only guess the dip*hit selling the 96 coupe wants way too much for it. I bet its close too or more then this 99.....

this just needs a little TLC to be a sweet ride...... :nice:
and yes, it is the right color :D

I have to agree with David as well. The mix matched wheels are an easy fix. If he was trying to clone a widebody SR, he forgot the entire bodykit and that's a poorly reproduced front fascia. Not evan close to the real thing, lets compare shall we:

    Reproduced thing: [IMG]

    Real thing:[IMG]
....at least he got the rear wing right :rlaugh:

I think that front facia is a real carbon fiber front bumper from Saleen. I inquired about it from Saleen when I had 94-11 years ago. Saleen wanted $1,100

I think they call it the "World challenge" bumper from their race cars? They described it to me as being like the factory bumper but lower to the ground and the scoops were elongated. This picture fits that description.

    Bart,
If it is a real carbon fiber Saleen front fascia, I've never seen that design before. The SR Widebody front nose is the only one if seen but you learn something new every day....I could be wrong.....but that car still doesn't appeal to me.........

That is a real Saleen bumper on the white coupe. Saleen did sell a few of those and do believe is was called the "world challenge" as FASN8N stated. Not a fake.
