Ok, this problem sometimes happens on start-up, on a stop, and between shifts. When I come to a stop it stays at 2grand for a couple seconds then goes back to normal 600-700 range. Also happens between shifts, which is really annoying, but actually makes second gear smoother, heh. Anyways, I had a dirty K&N filter in there and I tottally cleaned it out, thinking this could be the problem, but nope it still does it. Anyone else know what could cause this.. It reminds me of my old TBI 85 Camaro, that was so outta tune it did it all the time, and when ya shut it off it would still run for like 3 mins. At least the Cobra shuts right off when its doin it... lol.. Thanks for any help.
Perhaps your idle air control valve is sticking. The IACV lets air into the intake manifold when the throttle body is closed. Try removing it and cleaning it out with some intake/TB cleaner (not carb cleaner).
