I changed my shifter to the Hurst, and since then the temperature outside has gone down to where I haven't had need to turn the A/C on, since then I have noticed an extreme amount of heat comming up through the console area. I know it has nothing to do with the shifter cnsidering most of the heat I am feeling is comming from the emergency brake; I think the A/C was cooling everything down before to the point it wasn't noticed. Is this normal? and if so, is there anyway to put a boot or something on the emergency brake to stiffle the heat comming in?

this is normal. you can install some dynamat (or similar) to minimize the heat.
