The repair manual says to lift the arm away from the windshield and press the little spring clip, and the arm will lift off. I've pushed and pulled the clip every which way, and I still can't get the ****es off! What am I donig wrong? I'm about to take the dremel to it!
Ya, thats the way. The tab should pull out about 1/4 inch. But if they are anything like mine which had not been touched in 20 years, they aren't going to just fall off.Once you get the tab out just keep working the wiper back and forth and it will let go. Some WD40 will help.
I'm pushing the clip in, and the arm will move just a little bit up and down, like something is still holding it down.
You need to pull up on the arm so it's at a slight upward angle, and then you need to pull the tab on the side of the base OUTWARD. You might want to use a small flat blade screwdriver to pop the tab. Then the arm pops off.
I can't lift the arm up high enough to see underneath good enough to tell how it all works. There isn't a tab that pulls out from the side.
it pulls out ... towards the blade itself... a sm. screwdriver works (not standard size) pry it away from the right side of the shaft..
