I know this is an easy question but I dont have a repair manuel or the original book for the car. Im changing the oil in my 1996 cobra and I called the local ford dealer to ask how much oil it takes, they told me 6 quarts. Is this right?

Mine takes six not sure about yours...
You can download your owner's manual from www.ford.com in PDF format. It is kinda hard to find and you have to register but it is there.
