Cmon Bro, theres three newer ones on every corner. Besides, think of all the human emotion youll miss out on with a newer one... Anger.. rage... ... pain ... depression....but foremost, love.. Isnt that why the classics are so great ?

2005 Stang or 2006 Cobra. Gotta drive one. If it's a let down either 03 cobra or 2001-03 lightning. Just bought the wife an 04 mazda (ford owned) and I've got the newer car jones. The fact that my car is in the shop a good 3 months a year doesn't help much.....

blowing away all rice in town with a beater: Priceless.

Depends on what you want out of it. Since I have both, I'll tell you how I feel about it.

    • The classic is my hobby, obsession, toy whatever. It was my daily driver in college, and is never getting sold.

    • The 96 is a car. Right now it happens to be a better daily driver than the 66, but that is changing.

When it comes to 94-98s, you are looking at cars from 6-10 years old and you are limited to pretty regular used GT's by your budget, so a low milage Cobra or something like that is likely out of the question. Not what I would call super reliable or very exciting. If you were considering a newer car (less than 3 years) there would be an argument for that since you would have something that you basically wouldn't have to work on for quite a while. Since that isn't the case, I would go for the best classic you can find. Preferrably a fastback simply because now that you've had one, a coupe is probably never going to fell like it's good enough.

    JMO, of course.

yeah for some reason i like the look of the coupes better, maybe cuz a picture of a coupe was the first classic stang i ever saw a picture of. It just has a nice stance, i dunno....i just seem to like verts and coupes better.

I know what you mean! I lack the space for another car, or it would be a fox body. I've seen some really clean ones already built with all the goodies for a very reasonable price! Some say the fox bodies are going to be the next generation muscle cars to collect.
