I'm installing the camshaft on a '95 3.8L, but lost TDC (on the compression stroke). I'm trying to avoid being 180* out when finished. If someone knows the answer to the following question, I'll appreciate your help.

With the #1 cyl. at TDC on the compression stroke, and with the dot on the front of the cam gear at 6 o'clock and the dot of the crank gear at 12 o'clock, is the arrow (vane) on the special alignment tool placed on the synchronizer assembly pointing down towards the right side head (pass. side) or is the arrow pointing up towards the left side head (driver's side)?

    Thanks and Happy Motoring.
