Quick question!

Recently I was installing a new tach to my 65 stang. I spliced into one of my instrument panel bulb wires for the tach lighting. I turned on my insturment panel lights and the wire sparked. My insturment panel lights went out and wont turn on anymore! I thought I blew a fuse but when I checked my fuse panel on the drivers side panel, all looked good. Can anyone tell me what happened? Is there any other fuses that control these lights. I know the actual instrument panel bezel acts as a ground but I dont know if that has anything to do with it since it is grounded. To say the least it sucks driving at night and not being able to look at how fast you are going, how much gas you have left etc without the aid of a flashlight.

What did the wire arc to? Also, the fuse may not look blown visually. If you have a multimeter with a continuity check, or just a simple test light then use either one to check the fuse.
